History

UN WFP Mission (WORLD FOOD PROGRAMME) - monitoring programme and UNOPS - LOYA JIRGA elections programme, Afghanistan, year 2002

In Afghanistan, initially, our air company was involved in the UN WFP mission, performing a 2-month contract following the anti-terrorist operation of the United States in Afghanistan.
  
   During the period of contract performance with four MI-8-MTV-1 helicopters, from February to May 2002, we have performed cargo and passenger transport flights, aeromedical evacuation flights (MEDEVAC) and VIP flights.
  
   Mainly flights were operated for the purpose of monitoring the situation with food and medical supplies in different regions of Afghanistan, as well as for the delivery of humanitarian aid in the most hard-to-reach mountain areas.
  
   In the period from May to June 2002, the helicopters were involved in performing operations under the UNOPS LOYA JIRGA elections programme. In the subject period, more than 5000 persons were transported from different regions and areas of Afghanistan to Kabul in order to participate in the voting and elections of the temporary government of Afghanistan.


  
  
 

Flight performance for the United Nations - Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea (UNMEE), years 2002 - 2004

The helicopters of our air company have performed operations under the United Nations Mission in Ethiopia and Eritrea during 2 years, from November 2002 to November 2004.
  
   Operating flights for the United Nations, the helicopters were assigned corresponding callsigns UN602/UN603/UN604 and UN605.
   Contract duration - November 2002 - November 2004
  
   During the contract period, the helicopters performed cargo and passenger transport flights, aeromedical evacuation flights (MEDEVAC), VIP flights, observation and monitoring flights and external load flights.
  
   The helicopters were performing a 24-hour duty for the aeromedical evacuation (MEDEVAC), as well as night test flights.
  
   During the 2-year contract, 4 helicopters of our company have carried more than 30.000 passengers and 200.000 kg of cargo and have flown more than 5000 flight time hours.

Operations performance for the IRC (INTERNATIONAL RESCUE COMITTE) in Kosovo.

Flights and humanitarian supplies dropping were performed after the United States operation in Kosovo and Serbia.


 

Contract performance in Iraq 2004 -2006

During the years 2004 – 2006, “Valan ICC” air company has actively participated in the money exchange and elections programmes in Iraq, performing flights with aircraft AN-12 and AN-26.
  
   At present, the aircraft AN-26, ER-AZO, and AN-12, ER-AXH, are based in Baghdad, Iraq, and are performing charter flights at the request of the company “Skylink Arabia” throughout Iraq, transporting cargo and passengers for various NGOs, governmental and commercial organizations.
  
   Since August 2005, “Valan ICC” is performing in Iraq civil passenger flights with two AN-26 aircraft, ER-AVA and ER-AVB, carrying the personnel of the company KBR – contractor of the US State Department in Iraq.
  
   Today, “Valan ICC” air company, in cooperation with “Bouvier Enterprises Ltd.”, “Skylink Aviation Inc.” and “Skylink Arabia” operate three AN-26, one AN-24 and one AN-12 aircraft, having 34 members of flight and technical personnel and is one of the biggest Operators performing air services inside Iraq.

Humanitarian Mission performance in Indonesia, year 2005

In January 2005, our air company, under a contract signed with the company Aviation Charter Service PLC, Great Britain, has sent 2 MI-8MTV-1 helicopters to Indonesia to perform humanitarian operations after the devastations caused by the deadly tsunami in this region.
  
   The humanitarian operation was conducted under the aegis of the United Nations, on the basis of the agreement with the Government of Great Britain. The main part of cargo carried represented food and medical supplies for the most affected areas of Indonesia in the Banda Aceh province.
  
   The helicopters were dispatched with the An-124 aircraft (Ruslan aircraft) on the route Chisinau (Moldova) - Medan (Indonesia). In order to load the helicopters into the aircraft, the main and tail rotor blades and the slip rings have been removed; in the loading process the shock struts have been let out. The helicopters were delivered by the air company Polet at the request of the British Government.
